Day 1

Lanzhou Tour


High lights: Iron Bridge, Mother Statue over Yellow River, Waterwheel park

Iron Bridge: also known as the first bridge over the Yellow River, lies at the foot of Bai Ta Mountain and in front of Jin Cheng Pass in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province.

Mother Statue over Yellow River : the mother stands for yellow river and baby stands for Chinese beings ; It is very famous statue in Lanzhou ;

Waterwheel park : Waterwheel is very early irrigation system in China and has more than 500 years old history, Stay in: Lanzhou

Day 2

Lanzhou to Xiahe via Binglingsi


High lights: Binglingsi Grottoes : Sangke grassland

Binglingsi Grottoes : It is one of five Grottoes in China, lies in the north of where the Yellow River empties into the Liujiaxia  Reservoir of  Yongjing  County, Lanzhou City.
The first  Grotto was begun in 420 during West Qin Dynasty (385-400) with a history of 1600 years. Cave was continuously dug and more grottoes were added during the Wei, Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing dynasties.

Today, there are 183 caves, 694 stone sculptures, 82 clay statues and fresco of 900 meters, stretching 200 meters along the western bank of the Temple Channel on a 60-meter-high cliff. With the giant Buddha of No.169 Cave being the main part, the 183 caves are scattered in upper temple, lower temple, temple channel as well as the Buddha terrace.

Sangke Grassland : It lies 10km southwest of Xiahe Town, with an average altitude of over 3,000m above sea level. The grassland is named for the summer-blooming Sangke flowers that form a natural carpet extending to the far horizons. Reflecting sky and mountains, the Daxia River twists through grass and earth like an undulating silk belt.Stay in: Xiahe

Day 3

Xiahe to Lanzhou to Zhangye


High lights: Labrang monastery; take high speed train to Zhangye (D2753 18:27/21:56)

Labrang monastery: It is located about 180 kilometers from Lanzhou, the lamasery encompasses 86.7 hectares (214 acres) and about 2.5 kilometers in circumference and has about 10,000 rooms, which are enough to accommodate more than 3,000 lamas. Big, tall and elaborately decorated, the highly artistic monastery breathes a strong religious atmosphere of the Tibetans. Also the top college of Tibetan Buddhism in Northwest China, the monastery holds seven large-scale summons ceremonies a year, of which the summons ceremony in the first lunar month is the largest.Stay in: Zhangye

Day 4

Zhangye to Jiayuguan


High lights: Danxia National Geopark, Giant Buddha Temple

Danxia National Geopark : Danxia Landform Geological Park, with the breathtakingly beautiful mountains of Zhangye where layered red sandstone forms undulating lines in the landscape, seemingly painted by an impressionist painter, are a sight to touch even the heart of a seasoned traveler.

Giant Buddha Temple: It lies in the center of the city and is the typical building in Zhangye and was built in 11century AD; Stay in: Jiayuguan

Day 5



High lights: Jiayuguan Fort; Weijin Ancient Tomb

Jiayuguan Fort is in the 7 km southwest of Jiayuguan city and is the westmost end point in the Great Wall of China. It was built in Ming Dynasty and important for the military; It  is  greatest  and best-preserved fort along great  walls  in  China;

Weijin Ancient Tomb: Situated in the desert 20 km northeast of Jiayuguan city, Wei-Jin Art Gallery is not really an art gallery but ancient tombs with wall paintings. There are more than 1400 tombs, which could date back 220-419 AD during Wei and Jin periods.

All the paintings are on the bricks. Maybe one brick with one painting, half a brick with a painting or several bricks with an interlink painting. The painting contents are from all aspects of actual life. Then visitors can know well about people life and Chinese history at that time. These paintings also provide a reference for our scholar to study the society civilization of that history period. Stay in: Dunhuang

Dunhuang tours


High lights: Yumenguan Pass; River Storage City; Han Dynasty Great Wall; Yardan Geopark

Yumenguan Pass: It is very important gateway to west region for the northern route silk road; also well known as Jade Gate Pass and  is an ancient Han Great wall fort in Dunhuang on the Silk Road China against  the Huns ceaseless invasion;

Han Dynasty Great Wall: About 7km far away from Yumenguan Pass and was built for defending the Huns; this is the best-preserved great wall in Han Dynasty ;

River Storage City: It is a military storage city built in the Han Dynasty which played an important role on the ancient silk road;

Yardan Geopark: located at 180 kilometres northwest to Dunhuang City, Gansu province. Yardang National Geological Park situated in the west extension of Anxi-Duanhuang basin, and connected with Luobupo which located at west of Yardang National Geological Park. Yardang National Geological Park belongs to plain area with high to the east and low to the west. Yardang National Geological Park has an area of about 398.4 square kilometres with a length about 15-25 km of from east to west and the width about 15-20 km from north to south.Stay in: Dunhuang  Pop-up Tent

Day 7

Dunhuang to Turpan


High lights: Mogao grottoes and Singing Sand Dunes and Crescent Moon Lake Shazhou night market; overnight  train to Turpan

Mogao Grottoes is also the largest and best-preserved Buddhism art treasure house. It is especially famous for a great number of delicate murals and statues. All together it has 492 caves housing over 2,000 statues and more than 50,000 square yards of murals.

Singing Sand Dunes: Crescent Moon Lake, called as Yueyaquan in Chinese, is a crescent-shaped pool in the oasis, 5 km southwest of the city Dunhuang of Gansu province, China. It was named Yueyaquan since Qing Dynasty.

The Eco Sand Mountain ( Mingsha Shan in Chinese means a mountain with echoes to the sound of sand ) is five kilometers (about three miles) away from the city of Dunhuang. Seen from afar, the mountain is just like a golden dragon winding its way over the horizon. As you approach you become aware that the sand has many colors ranging from red to yellow, green, black and white.
Shazhou Night market: an ideal place to experience the local people’s life style; you may see a lot of local hand made souvenirs foods and fruits; Stay in train

Day 8

Turpan tour


High lights: flaming mountain,Bezeklik thousand buddha caves,Tuyuk Ancient village,Jiaohe ruined city, Turpan Museum

After breakfast drive to Bezeklik thousand buddha caves, witch is 40km east of Turpan city, on the way see the beautiful flaming mountain and marvelous landscape, at the bezeklik caves you will  understand the flourished Buddhism in the past and colorful murals. Then drive to Tuyuk Ancient village witch is 70km east of Turpan, it is the 1700 years old ancient village and has the mixing culture of Buddhism and Islam, looks like separated from outside world and has fascinating old buildings, you will have lunch in the local Uyghur family. After noon go back to Turpan city to visit Jiaohe ruins witch city was made 2300 years ago by digging the earth and it is the best preserved ruined city in China, after finish Jiaohe city visit Turpan Museum. Overnight in Turpan

Day 9

Turpan to Urumqi airport and fly to Kashgar


High lights: Sultan minaret,Karez underground irrigation system

In the morning visit Sultan minaret witch was build 1777, and it is the only Minaret in Xinjiang built with Mosque. Karez underground irrigation system, it is one of the three ancient achievement of China together with the Great wall and Beijing – Hangzhou Grand canal, After lunch drive to the Urumqi airport fly to Kashgar. Overnight in Kashgar.

Day 10

Kashgar city tour


High lights: Livestock Market, Sunday Market,Apak hoja tomb,Old town of Kashgar,Inkah mosque

In the morning drive to the Livestock market witch is 15km west of Kashgar city and only opens on Sundays, it is a place you can have unforgettable experience, it is a trace of silk road Market, people still ding trade in ancient way, after there visit Sunday Market witch is like a window show you the colorful Uyghur  life,and it is the best place to understand it. After lunch visiting Apak hoja tomb witch was build 1640 by Apak hoja’s father, whoja family ruled Kashgar area from mid 17 to mid 18 century. Then Old town of Kashgar witch is located down town of Kashgar city, there you can see people still living in their beautiful old hoses, and the streets are very attracting. then visit the biggest Arabic style mosque in China Inkah mosque witch was build in 1442 by the local ruler and it is the center of islam for Xinjiang people, 50 thousand people can pray in one time. Overnight in Kashgar.

Day 11

Kashgar to Karakul lake,200km


High lights: Karakorum highway(KKH), Opal village, Red mountain, White sand mountain, Karakul lake, Muztagh ata mountain

After breakfast drive to karakul lake along the beautiful Karakorum High way, on the way visit Opal village witch once the summer resort of Karahani kingdom during 9-13 centuries, Red mountain in Oytagh village and beautiful landscape, white sand mountain at corner lake, Karakul Lake Is the most beautiful high mountain lake at the elevation of 3600m above sea level, the lake surrounded by mountains which remain snow-covered throughout the year, the three highest peaks visible from the lake are the Muztagh Ata (7,546 m),Kongur Tash(7,649 m) and Kongur Tiube (7,530 m), Muztagh ata mountain is considered the easiest mountain to climb among above 7000m high mountains. you can ride horse, camel or hike around the lake, just need to  tell your guide when you are ready to go back Kashgar. Day 12

Kashgar to Urumqi by flight


High lights: Xinjiang regional museum, Urumqi grand Bazaar

Take the morning flight to Urumqi, after arrival visit Xinjiang regional museum where you have the chance to see thousands of cultural and historical relics which were excavated in Xinjiang area, including 3800-year-old natural mummies, then go to the Urumqi grand Bazaar where you will see many kinds of hand crafts from all around countries. Overnight in Urumqi

Day 13

Urumqi to Heavenly lake ,110km


High lights: Heavenly lake, Kazak Yurt

After breakfast start the tour to Heavenly lake which is 110km Northeast of Urumqi city, after 80 km driving on the highway you will arrive the ticket office, there you will take shuttle bus for the mountain road, after you arrive in the last bus station you only left 700m to get to the lake, you can either walk up to the lake of taking the electronic car which is only 10yuan.

At the lake you will enjoy the beauty of the mountain, it is windless big snow capped mountain with pine trees. The famous Boghda Ata peak(5445m) is located at the south side of the lake. You can enjoy the fresh water by riding the pleasure boat. We will have Dinner and overnight at the Kazak Yurt.

Day 14

Heavenly lake to Urumqi


Back to Urumqi and take you to the airport.
