One day Kashgar tour to Karakul lake



Karakul Lake is 200km from Kashgar on the Karakorum Highway with the elevation of 3600m above sea level. It is on the lap of two giants, Muztagh Ata regarded “the father of ice mountains” and Kongur reputed with more avalanche. It is rare highland lake in the world. By the lake, there are yurts and restaurant available for tourists to stop and over night.

This is one of the most exciting tours of Kashgar, the landscapes are very attractive, your guide will meet you at your Hotel at 6:30am in the morning and you start to drive on the world famous Karakorum high way witch is about 1225km, 425km are in China starting from Kashgar and ends at Khonjirap pass, after 50km driving you will arrive Opal village witch is the summer resort of Karahani kingdom 1000years ago and still very beautiful and ancient village, you can take photos in the village bazaar. Further 40km you will arrive Red mountain, it looks very charming and beautiful. After drive in the mountain valley about 70km you arrive White sand mountain, it is very beautiful because of the white sand and corner lake, you can see the wonderful shadow of the mountain in the lake mirror if the weather is good. About 40km to the north you arrive the final destination Karakul lake, Is the most beautiful high mountain natural lake at the elevation of 3600m above sea level, the lake surrounded by mountains which remain snow-covered throughout the year, the three highest peaks visible from the lake are the Muztagh Ata (7,546 m),Kongur Tash(7,649 m) and Kongur Tiube (7,530 m), Muztagh ata mountain is considered the easiest mountain to climb among above 7000m high mountains. You will have lunch at the lake in the local kyrgyz family, after lunch you can ride horse , camel or hike around the lake, just need to your guide when you are ready go back Kashgar.
