Ili prefecture situated in the western part of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, and it was the place where the two ancient Silk Roads, the Grassland route and Norther route met together. The prefecture borders with Kazakhstan in the west. The Ili, also called Ghulja by the local people is very beautiful with the Ili river, flowing through its territory, the fertile river valleys and forests of Tianshan Mountains, with plenty water resources. Mild temperature endow the area s with rich products. Ili is an important bridge between China and Central Asia. It takes advantage to the tourism and economic exchange.
