Heavenly lake(Tianchi) is located 110km Northeast of Urumqi city, it is in the half moon shape, 3,400 meters long, and about 1,500 meters wide, averagely 60 meters deep and 105 meters at it’s deepest point. Heavenly Lake is one of the most beautiful places in western China, in Summer it is full of flowers everywhere, and the snow-capped mountain peaks are visible at good weather. The Heavenly lake(Tianchi) scenic area is divided into four natural view belts: lower mountain belt, mountain coniferous forest belt, alpine and subalpine belt, ice and snow belt.

Heavenly lake(Tianchi) is located 110km Northeast of Urumqi city, Northwest of magnificent Bogda Peak, which is 5445m high above sea level and the highest peak of Eastern Tianshan mountain, Heavenly lake is a natural alpine lake, was formed 200 million years ago, the surface of the lake is 1980 meters high above sea level, it is in the half moon shape, 3,400 meters long, and about 1,500 meters wide, averagely 60 meters deep and 105 meters at it’s deepest point. Heavenly Lake is one of the most beautiful places in western China, in Summer it is full of flowers everywhere, and the snow-capped mountain peaks are visible at good weather. Itinerary
Day 1
Urumqi to Heavenly lake, 110km, 2hours
In the early morning, our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel in Urumqi, then you start driving to Heavenly Lake, after one and half hours driving you will arrive to the entrance office(80km), then we transfer to the shuttle bus for another 30km mountain road, it will take about 40mins. after you arrive in the last shuttle bus station you only left 700m to get to the lake, you can either walk up or take the electronic shuttle car which is only 10yuan per person. Normally you can spend 3 hours around the lake, enjoy the beauty of nature, snow-capped mountain with pine trees. You can enjoy the fresh water by riding the pleasure boat. We will have picnic at the lake and back to Urumqi, in Urumqi visit the International Grand Bazaar, then back to hotel.
