Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrive in Kashgar
Airport pickup and transfer to your hotel. Free time suggestion: Stroll Yengi Bazaar for first tastes of samsa (Uyghur lamb pies) and kawap (cumin-spiced skewers). Overnight: KashgarDay 2: Kashgar City Tour (all city sites within 15km)
Highlights: Livestock Market, Apak Hoja Tomb, Kashgar Old Town, Id Kah Mosque
After breakfast, visit the Sunday Livestock Market (open 10 AM–4 PM): Watch Uyghur herders trade Sheep, yaks via secret handshakes and test your bargaining skills for silver toqquz qosh necklaces. Then explore Apak Hoja Tomb: Admire 17th-century local architecture and hear legends of the “Fragrant Concubine” from Qing Dynasty lore. After lunch, get lost in Kashgar Old Town’s maze: Follow the scent of rose tea to artisan workshops crafting dutar lutes, and peek into skywell courtyards draped with grapevines. Then visit Id Kah Mosque: the largest one in China. Overnight: KashgarDay 3: Kashgar → Tashkorgan (300km, 6hrs via G314)
