Kashgar is the most historical city in the west China, the two routes of the Silk Road were joined in Kashgar, Caravans stopped here to exchange goods, buying and selling, this endows this city having the rich diversity of cultures and history behind it.
Itinerary
Day 1
Kashgar to Tashkorgan, 300 km
Our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel, then you start travel to Tashkorgan, It is going to be an exciting drive, starting from the altitude 1280m to 4000m, about more than two and half kilometers up. We drive along the famous Karakorum highway(KKH), and pass through deserts, oasis villages, mountain villages, famous mountain peaks as high as 7719m. We will make a few short stops for good scenery and break the drive. At the food step of Muztagh- Ata (means father of ice mountain), we will enjoy from the view of the Karakul Lake. After we arrive in Tashkorgan, we will visit the Stone Castle. Overnight at kashkorgan town.

Day 2
Tashkorgan to Kashgar
In the morning, we will visit the Golden grassland just outside the town- high altitude flat grassland (3200 meter above sea level). Many small streams running on the grassland, the water sourced by the surrounding mountain glaciers. Because of the low temperature at night, the grass can’t grow well even with enough water and sunshine. The animals, the yurts and small streams on the grassland make a great view combine with the surrounding mountains. Then we visit stone fortress, just 500m from the grassland, which was a capital of Puli kingdom 2000 years ago, after that, drive back to kashgar along the same road, all the way down.
