Xinjiang has been called the “land of melons and fruits" and Hami melons ,watermelons,Turpan grapes ,Korla pear, fig ,apricot,pomegranates, mulberry, nut ,walnut ,Hami red dates and other special fruits are well-known at home and abroad.
Pomegranate
Pomegranate is called “Anar" in Uyghur language. The pomegranate in Yecheng County is the most famous.The local pomegranate color is red and very sweet, which is deeply loved by local people. Pomegranate is rich in fruit sugar, high-quality protein, etc., which can supply the energy and heat for human body, also can provide trace elements and nutrients missing from human body, and relieve fatigue. Pomegranate also has whitening and anti-aging effects; Pomegranate is helpful to prevent cardiovascular disease, the antioxidant level in pomegranate is high, it can resist the damage of inflammation and free radicals to human body, prevent atherosclerosis, prevent cancer, and the effect is even higher than red wine.
Grape
Xinjiang has a very long history of grape planting. Turpan and Kashgar are the places where grapes are abundant. In addition to the large-area vineyards in the suburbs, the seedless white grapes are planted in every courtyard. They are thin skinned, juicy, tasty and nutritious. They are known as “pearls". Their sugar content is 20-24%, which surpasses that of California in the United States and ranks the top in the world. There are more than 50 excellent varieties of Seedless white, red grape, black grape, rose fragrance, white brick, etc. Grape is rich in glucose and vitamins, which can help digestion, increase appetite and prevent fatty liver after hepatitis.
Fig
Xinjiang fig has the name of “fruit Queen". It is cultivated in a large number in Tarim Basin, with the most cultivated in Atush, with an annual output of more than 200 mu. The pulp is soft, sweet and contains 24% sugar. Because of its smooth branches and neat crown, fig is planted in the courtyard to beautify the environment. Fig has a high medicinal value, which can purify the intestine, promote the proliferation of beneficial bacteria, inhibit the rise of blood sugar, maintain the normal cholesterol content, stop diarrhea and treat sore throat. Put the dried fig leaf in the tub, it can warm the body, prevent and cure neuralgia and swelling pain, and also has the cosmetic effect of lubricating the skin. The most important medicinal function of fig is its significant inhibition of cancer. Hami melon
Hami melon commonly known as melon,also known as “precious fruit", and Hami melon is the most famous one. The peel is yellow or cyan, and the flesh is thick, white, cyan or red orange. Its cultivation history can be traced back to the Jin Dynasty and got its name from the Qing Dynasty. It is sweet, fragrant and mellow, crispy and refreshing. Hami melon has thick skin and delicious meat. It is easy to preserve and can be eaten almost all year round in the local area. Melon can also be made into the following processed products: ① dried melon; ② preserved melon; ③ melon juice, canned melon pieces, etc.
Mulberry
Kashi’s fertile soil , suitable for planting mulberry.Mulberry is the early mature fruit of Kashgar, which is called “Primula in fruits". There are white and purple mulberry in Kashgar. Because of its cold nature and sweet taste, mulberry not only has the functions of strengthening the spleen and stomach, eliminating eye fatigue, strengthening the body, nourishing the liver and kidney, nourishing yin and blood, but also has obvious curative effect on Yin deficiency, dizziness, insomnia, etc., but also contains rutin, anthocyanin, carotene, vitamin B1, B2, C, etc., that’s why they are deeply loved by people.
apricot
It is called “yuruk" in Uyghur language , which is abundant in Aksu. Xinjiang apricot is a kind of fruit with high nutritional value. It has many kinds of apricot, thick and juicy flesh, sweet taste, rich nutrition, various organic ingredients, vitamins and inorganic salts necessary for human body. In addition to fresh apricots, they can also be dried. In some places, they are processed into preserved apricots and apricot nuts.
Pear
Xinjiang is rich in Pear resources, with more than 60 varieties. The fragrant pears produced in Korla ,which are famous all over the country. They have the characteristics of large size, thin skin, thin meat, juicy and sweet taste. They are very popular with local people. The pear has high sugar content, and rich in vitamin C, phosphorus and calcium.
