Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Xi’an
Our guide will welcome you at the Xi’an airport and take you to the Hotel. Xi’an is an Ancient Capital of China from the 3rd century BC, was called “Chang an”, Xi’an was also an Important city on the Silk Road, the starting point in the east. Overnight in Xi’an

Day 2
Xi’an Tour
Today we will have one day Xi’an city Tour, in the morning we visit the Old City Wall, it was built in the Ming Dynasty during 14th century, is the best preserved city wall in China, then drive to the Great Mosque, the biggest Mosque in China, the Mosque architecture is quite different than other mosques in the world since made according to Chinese architecture. Then we will have lunch in the Hui min Street the Muslim Bazaar, it is a place full a life, you can see various Hui cuisines and snacks, as well as the local souvenirs. Afternoon we drive to the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum, It is the eighth wonder of the world. In the Museum, you can see the orderly placed warriors and horses, believed to be the Mausoleum of the Qin Shihuang – the first emperor of China. After dinner, back to Hotel. Overnight in Xi’an

Day 3
Xi’an to Dunhuang by flight
Today we take a morning flight to Dunhuang, a very historical city, was an important stop on the Silk Road, located east of Taklamakan desert, is the home to best preserved Buddhist arts in China. At the Dunhuang airport, other guide and driver will welcome you and take you to Lunch. After lunch, we will visit the historical Museum in Dunhuang, which shares over 4000 historical and cultural relics were found around Dunhuang area. After Museum you will have some free time, we take you to the Hotel have some rest. Evening we will go to the Night market of Dunhuang city, it is one street quite interesting and very busy with the people. Have dinner at Market and back to Hotel.

Day 4
Dunhuang Tour, Overnight Train to Turpan
After breakfast, we will travel to the Mogao grottoes, which is the best preserved Buddhist caves in China, the murals and statues are remained incredibly fine with the original color. When we arrive firstly we will see two movies witch is the introduction of Mogao, then we visit the caves. In the afternoon, we will visit Crescent Moon Lake and Mingsha Mountain, the desert is very close to the Dunhuang City, the sand dunes are reddish and very high, if you like you can climb to the top by redder and slide dawn by sliding plate, it is a very exciting experience. You also can ride camel in the desert. There is a Crescent lake surrounded by the sand, makes the whole site very beautiful. In the evening, we Travel to Turpan by soft-sleeper overnight train.

Day 5
Turpan Tour
Today we visit Turpan city and around area, Turpan is an old oasis city in the Northeast of Taklamakan desert, was played important role on the Silk Road, also one of the ancient capitals of North Xinjiang, it is the Hottest, driest, lowest and sweetest place in China. In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up from the train station and you will travel to Tuyuk village, which is 60 km east of Turpan city, on the way we will see flaming mountain it is the eastern branch of Tianshan mountain, and hottest place in Turpan, looks like flaming from the distance. Then we visit Tuyuk village the oldest village in Xinjiang and has the history of 1700 years. After here we drive back to Turpan City and have lunch. In the afternoon, we visit Sultan Minaret, it is the only mosque in Xinjiang with Minaret and was built 200 years ago. Then we visit Karez, it is an underground irrigation system, sourced by the around mountains, watering the oasis Turpan since as early as 2000 years ago. After that we visit Jiaohe ruined city, it is the best preserved ruined city in China, located on the cliff island and surrounded by two rivers, made by digging the earth 2300 years ago. Overnight in Turpan.

Day 6
Turpan to Urumqi, 190km, 3hours, fly to Kashgar
Today we travel to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang province since mid 18th century, on the way we will see the Dabancheng wind power station, which is the largest one in China, located in the airflow area between North and South Xinjiang. Then we see the Salt Lake, also called dead sea of China. After arriving in Urumqi, we have lunch and then visit regional Museum, where stored more than 50,000 pieces of relics found around Xinjiang area, the 3800-year-old Mummies are the most special item in the Museum, which dried naturally under the sand. Then we drive to airport and take evening flight to Kashgar.

Day 7
Kashgar Tour
Kashgar was the pearl on the ancient silk Road, mainly populated by the Uyghurs, located in the meeting point of Tianshan Mountain, Karakorum mountain and Pamir Mountains. In the morning, we will visit the Apak Ghoja Tomb, a unique representative ancient Uyghur architecture. Then we drive to the Livestock Market, which is 15km west of Kashgar city, a very fascinating Animal Market, the businessmen at the Bazaar not only from the city but also from all over the villages and mountainous areas. After lunch, we will visit Sunday Bazaar, where you can see various products from handicrafts to daily necessities, clothes to dry fruits from the local area, inland China, as well as the neighboring countries. Then we walk into the Old town of Kashgar, where we see old houses of Uyghur people, almost all the houses have the courtyard, they open handicrafts shops on the first flour of their house. Then we visit the biggest mosque –Idkha, was built 1442. After that we walk in the handicrafts street around the mosque, back to hotel after dinner.

Day 8
Kashgar to Tashkorgan, 300KM
Today we travel to most southwest city of China Tashkorgan, we drive along Karakorum highway(KKH), which is one of the most beautiful highways in the world and the highest part run through Khonjirap pass, which is 4800m high above sea level. After drive 50km from Kashgar city we stop at the Opal village to buy some food, since we need to picnic at the Karakul lake, then we stop at Oytagh valley and White sand mountain to take photo, at the end we visit Karakul lake, which is 3600m above sea level, the beautiful and giant three snow-capped mountain peaks are visible from the lake, among them the Muztagh Ata is the most beautiful and most famous mountain, Overnight in Tashkorgan.

Day 9
Tashkorgan to Kashgar
In the morning, we visit golden grassland, there see beautiful landscapes with mountains, rivers，animals. Then visit stone fortress, which was capital of Puli kingdom during the Han dynasty. Travel back to Kashgar along the KKH.

Day 10
Kashgar to Home.
In the morning our guide and driver will take you to the Kashgar airport, and you say good bye to each other. Your China Silk Road Tour end here.
According to your convenience and home location, You can choose one of our big cities to have international flight to get back home, like Urumqi, Beijing, Shanghai or Xian, you may fly to this big city today and fly to your home second day morning. Kashgar is the place you take the first flight.
