Inner Mongolia
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, referred to as “Inner Mongolia”, the provincial administrative region of the people’s Republic of China, the capital city of Hohhot. It is located in North China, extending obliquely from northeast to southwest, in a narrow shape. It borders Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning and Hebei in the northeast, Shanxi, Shaanxi and Ningxia in the south, Gansu in the southwest, Russia and Mongolia in the north. The terrain of Inner Mongolia autonomous region extends obliquely from northeast to southwest, in a narrow and long shape. The whole region is basically a plateau type geomorphic area. Forest landscape is mainly distributed in Daxinganling; folk tourism mainly includes Mongolian song and dance, Mongolian “three arts of men” – horse racing, wrestling, archery, Nadam, etc. Scenic spots and historic sites include Wuta temple, Dazhao, Zhaojun tomb, xilituzhao, wusutuzhao and Baita in Hohhot, wudangzhao and meidaizhao in Baotou.
