Jiayuguan
Jiayuguan is located in the middle of the narrowest Valley 5km west of Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province. It is the most West Pass of Hexi Corridor in the west of Gansu Province. The walls on both sides of the pass cross the desert Gobi, connect with the great wall of Heishan in the north, connect with the first pier in the world in the south. It is the most West Pass of the great wall of Ming Dynasty. It was once called the throat of Hexi in history. Jiayuguan is the traffic fortress of the ancient “Silk Road” and one of the three wonders of the great wall of China. Jiayuguan is a world cultural heritage, national AAAAA level tourist attraction. Jiayuguan is a natural place with both attack and defense. It has a strict military defense system with nearby facilities such as the Great Wall, city tower, moat and beacon tower. It is also known as the “No.1 grand pass in the world”. In 1961, the Great Wall Cultural Heritage “the Great Wall – Jiayuguan” was announced as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council.
