Bosten lake




 

Bosten lake is the biggest inland fresh water lake in China, 55km from east to west and 25 km from north to south, covers about 1200square kilometers. In 2014, the Bosten lake scenic spot rated as national 5A natural scenic spot. The lake provides an ideal inhabitant for many birds, fishes and wild plants, mainly reeds. The view around the lake is some like the ocean beaches, attracts thousands of tourists in summer days. The lake not only supplies water to the surrounding cities like Korla, Yanji but also very important for the ecology of the area. The water source of the lake is except the seasonal rains, mainly the ice and snow on the top of the Tianshan mountains which melts in summer.
