Sultan (Emin) Minaret




 

It is a Uyghur architecture was built mid 18th century. Emin Minaret located just 4 km from Turpan city, surrounded by local villages. It is a tower at one corner of the mosque, which serves to the local community only at Friday noon, other times opens to tourists. The Minaret was built in 1777 by the honor king of Emin, the ruler or the region. The son of Emin, the Sulayman became king since his father got old, at the year of 1776, and he decided to build the mosque and minaret for his father. The minaret is 37 meters tall and the base is 10meter in diameter.
