Ancient city of Jiaohe is the largest, oldest and best preserved local architectural city in the world, and also the most complete urban heritage in China for more than 2000 years. It is a natural fortress, located on the top of a steep cliff, and a leafy plateau between two deep valleys. The river water is distributed in different directions around the city. It is called Youngor in Uygur and Jiaohe in Chinese, which means "confluence of rivers". Jiaohe, known as "the most perfect ruins in the world". Due to the erosion of the river, the precipices around the platform are as high as 30 meters, so it is very dangerous and easy to guard. Many buildings, such as gate, underground palace and Buddhist temple, are still clearly visible. In addition to the lack of walls, the building form also has an obvious feature, that is, most of the buildings in the city, regardless of size, are basically excavated from the high platform surface by the method of "reducing earth retaining wall". It can be said that this city is a huge ancient sculpture with unique architectural technology, which is unique not only in China, but also in foreign countries, reflecting the intelligence and great creativity of ancient workers.
