It was founded in 1988, divided into history museum and Folk Museum. There are more than 12000 cultural relics in the museum from the primitive society to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, including stone, bronze, pottery, wood, iron, woolen cloth, clothes and mummies of the Qing Dynasty. Among them, 17 (category) are national first-class cultural relics, 72 are national second-class cultural relics and 122 are national third-class cultural relics. The Museum covers a total area of 4896 square meters and an exhibition area of 2800 square meters. It is mainly used for the exhibition of Xinjiang Mukam art, Hami Mukam art and Hami Uygur folk and folk culture. Since its establishment, the museum has cooperated with various cultural and Museum units in Xinjiang and abroad in various forms of exhibitions through going out and inviting in, which has received good economic and social benefits; at the same time, it also plays an important role in the work of popularizing scientific and cultural knowledge for the people of all walks of life in the region and carrying forward the excellent cultural tradition of the motherland.
