It is situated at the heart of Kashgar city. It is the biggest Arabic style mosque in China,and one of the most famous ones in the world. it is a group of old Islamic constructions with strong ethnic style and religious features. 1442 the ruler of Kashgar Saqit mirza buried his died relatives in this cemetery, in the aim to where he and other visitors would say prayers to the souls of his deceased relatives, Saqit mirza built a small mosque in the today’s inner praying hall. this mosque was Extended and renovated several times but kept the style, size, painting, and has finally reached its present size. It is 140 meters long from north to South and 120 meters wide from east to west, covering a total area of 16800 square meters. The entrance to the temple is an octagonal hall with a 20 mu garden. There are two pools in the garden, surrounded by white poplar and luxuriant mulberry. Although it is in the center of downtown, it is very quiet and elegant.
