Stone forest in Kunming

Stone Forest scenic spot, also known as Yunnan stone forest, is 78 kilometers away from Kunming and covers an area of 350 square kilometers. Kunming Shilin scenic spot has been rated as "World Geopark" and "World Natural Heritage scenery" by the United Nations arts and education department. In 1982, it was approved by the State Council as one of the first batch of national key scenic spots. It is a national AAAAA level scenic spot and a national civilized scenic spot. The main scenic spots are xiaoshilin, dashilin, Shilin Changhu, bushaoshan, liziyuanqing, etc.; dashilin is composed of dense stone peaks, like a schist basin. The height of the largest independent rock column is more than 40 meters. Among them, the most famous "Wangfeng Pavilion" is the best place to enjoy the "forest sea". Bushao mountain is located in the east of dashilin and the south of xiaoshilin. It is bounded by huanlin East Road in the scenic area and distributed in a north-south direction. It is a slope platform in the east of dashilin dissolution depression. There are giant gastropod fossils, coral fossils and other marine fossils in the scenic spot, which record the thriving underwater world in Shilin area 270 million years ago.
